Guangming District's leadership has big plans for the future, as evidenced by their announcement of a substantial 55.6-billion-yuan (US$7.72 billion) investment into 362 development projects for 2024, Bao'an Daily reported.

This announcement follows an impressive 2023, where the district fully allocated and spent its budget, setting the stage for continued progress.

The 2024 investment agenda includes a 9.3-billion-yuan annual fund dedicated to propelling the district into the future through a series of strategic endeavors. Among these are the completion of a Science City that stands to position Guangming as a beacon of innovation, and the establishment of the Northern Center of Shenzhen as an economic growth hub.

Education, healthcare, and transportation projects are earmarked for substantial investments, selected for their potential to offer long-term benefits and to solidify the district's foundations. Projects in these areas aim to enhance the quality of life and provide secure social welfare for the district's residents.

Within the realm of municipal infrastructure, Guangming District is focusing on improving roads with 121 projects, including main thoroughfares like Hanlin and Tianyuan roads. Additionally, 21 water projects catering to both quality and safety are slated for the Science City.

The public service sector will see an infusion of aid as well, with plans to bolster education through 65 initiatives like expanding schools near affordable housing areas and upgrading preschools. Healthcare will also receive a boost, with 17 projects, including a new hospital branch and a community health center.

Urban beautification and comprehensive governance are also featured in the plan, with 50 initiatives including park construction and urban village renovations, and improvements to utilities such as electricity and natural gas infrastructure.

Tech innovation is not left out, as the district plans to fund eight projects aiming to keep Guangming's cutting edge. These include the establishment of an Intellectual Property Public Service Center and a state-of-the-art Emergency Management and Monitoring Command Center.

With these targeted investments, Guangming District is not just planning for the next year, but paving the way for a decade of growth and prosperity, lifting the district to new heights and seeking to enhance the lives of all its citizens.
